Fans were shockingly surprised when a New Album titled “I Admit” was released on Spotify and Apple Music by R&B Legend R. Kelly this past Friday. The album quickly shot up the charts reaching the Top 20 on iTunes Charts in just a few hours. A rep for Sony Music released a statement to media outlets claiming it’s an unofficial (Bootleg) album. However, Variety reports that “Legacy Recordings,” the label that released the album, is a division of Sony Music.
A legal Counsel representing Kelly, Jennifer Bonjean, tells media outlets that the singer’s team is not behind the album’s release. Streaming platforms removed the album at the request of the distributor UMG Ingrooves, and it’s unclear if we will ever get the chance to hear an official version.
